IMPT: School resumes on Thursday, January 9th! We are ready to see the students again in a few short days! A lot of changes have happened in the EFES/MECC building over winter break. Some classrooms have moved into newly renovated spaces to allow for the construction company to begin renovating the upstairs. Here are some changes to expect when school resumes on January 9th: Entrances: *All students will enter through one entrance in the morning - the original EFES main double doors as seen on the map below. *Secretaries for both Eugene Field and MECC will be located in this area. To talk to office staff, you will use the main entrance. *The nurse will remain at the location she has been this year - also seen on the attached map. Morning Drop-Off: *Attached is an updated drop off map. Our crossing guard will move locations and the 'drive-thru' line in the parking lot will open back up as it has been in years past. Dismissal- Parent Pick-Up: *For students that are parent pick-up: dismissal time will remain the same, however your student's class may exit from a different door. Preschool will continue to dismiss students on the west side of the building. Grades K-2 will exit on the north side. GO: *GO will be using the front main entrance for drop off and pick up. Thank you!

Dear Maryville School District Community, I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying the start of the new year. As we prepare for the beginning of the second semester, I want to take a moment to address a potential concern regarding the weather conditions that may impact our school schedule. Due to forecasts indicating the possibility of a significant snow event in the coming days, we are closely monitoring the situation. The safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priorities, and we want to ensure that everyone is prepared for any changes that may arise. Staff members are scheduled to report back on Monday (1/6/25). We will closely monitor the road conditions and determine whether or not conditions are safe for our staff members to report. If we close campus that day, this will push the student start date back one day. As a reminder, we already delayed the start to 1/8/25 so that teachers at MECC and EFE have time to relocate their rooms due to continued construction. No matter the weather conditions, we will still allow for two days for our teachers and staff to unpack and arrange their rooms. This will help to assure that our students and staff have a great start to the semester. We will keep you informed as we assess the weather conditions and make decisions accordingly. Our goal is to provide timely updates so that families can plan accordingly. Please stay tuned for further communications from the district. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we navigate this situation together. Thank you for your continued support of our schools and community. Warm regards, Dr. Logan Lightfoot Superintendent
